Many poor families have been left homeless after the bulldozer action in Bahraich. They are now sitting outside their homes with their belongings. The homeless people mentioned that they had been living there for 40 to 50 years without any interference from any department. Suddenly, after receiving a notice, the houses were demolished.
Rasul Ahmed’s weeping wife, Kulsum Idrisi, said that it would have been better if they had taken her life. They struggle to have two meals a day. Where will they build a home now? All the homeless poor families have requested the state government to provide them housing under some scheme. The homeless people have respected the court's order and hope for a solution.
23 houses demolished in bulldozer action
The bulldozer action that started around noon was completed by 5 PM. A total of 23 illegal constructions were razed. This action was taken following a High Court order. The people were living on government land with illegal houses.
Action taken after High Court order
It should be noted that the action to use bulldozers on illegal constructions in Bahraich was executed following the High Court's order. The people illegally encroaching on government land had already been evacuated. Under this action, 23 houses and shops in Sarai Jagna area and Wazirganj market were demolished by bulldozers.
