Following the BJP's initial candidate list for the upcoming general elections, released on Saturday, Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh had declined the nomination from Asansol, West Bengal. On Monday, he discussed the matter with BJP President JP Nadda.
After this meeting, Pawan Singh assured that all developments would be favourable. 'I've conversed with the BJP President, presenting my viewpoint. You will be briefed about the conclusions reached in due course,' Singh confirmed.
Upon being named a candidate, Pawan Singh had expressed his gratitude towards the senior BJP leaders and national leadership for placing their trust in him.
Pawan Singh's Earlier Response to Candidacy
The BJP had unveiled its first list of 197 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections last Saturday. Pawan Singh was the choice for the Asansol seat. Following the announcement, Singh publicly thanked the BJP leadership.
In the post, he said 'I salute and honor all the esteemed members of the BJP national leadership for selecting me as the Lok Sabha candidate for Asansol.'
