The fourth season of TVF's successful web series 'Panchayat' has landed on the OTT platform 'Amazon Prime Video' to much acclaim. Based on Phulera village, it's actually shot in Mahodiya village in Madhya Pradesh's Sehore district. All seasons have been filmed here, although the series portrays it as Phulera village in Ballia district, UP.
After monsoon rains, Phulera village (Mahodiya) is in disrepair. Social media is flooded with memes showing Mahodiya's Panchayat area turned to mud. Memes compare pre- and post-rain images, highlighting the clean state under Brij Bhushan Dubey versus the current condition under Bhushan's leadership.

The constant viral memes prompted a ground report by Aaj Tak correspondent Naved Jaffrey in Mahodiya. While reel life showcases development, real life reveals a muddy reality. The rainy season has turned the Panchayat building area into mud, with grass and bushes thriving under the tank area where Bhushan's supporters took charge post their takeover from Brij Bhushan Dubey's faction.

Villagers claim that while the 'Panchayat' series garnered fame, the series team did nothing for the village's actual development. The real Panchayat and leaders are the ones implementing progress, not the series team.

Various scenes were filmed at Mahodiya's Panchayat building and former Sarpanch's residence (depicted as Manju Devi and Brij Bhushan Dubey's house in the series), and numerous other village locations. The web series features actors like Jitendra Kumar (Secretary Ji), Neena Gupta (Manju Devi), Raghubir Yadav (Brij Bhushan Dubey), Faisal Malik (Prahlad), among others.

Regret Over Real Name Not Featured
Former Sarpanch Representative Lal Singh Sisodia expressed regret to Aaj Tak for not featuring the real village name in 'Panchayat.' The Mahodiya name should have been shown in the series shot entirely there, achieving success. Seven segments are planned, and during the next shoot, they'll push producers to retain Mahodiya's name.
