The TVF series 'Panchayat' boasts an impressive fanbase that has grown tremendously over the past few years, with audiences deeply connecting to its characters' stories. The love story of Secretary Ji and Rinki gained much attention both on-screen and off-screen. Actress Saanvika, who plays 'Rinki of Panchayat', has made several revelations about the series that became viral.

Refusal to Kiss Secretary Ji

In an interview, Saanvika confessed that she declined a kissing scene in the series. There was a proposed kissing scene between her and Secretary Ji, played by actor Jitendra Kumar, but she felt uncomfortable doing it. The decision was made considering her personal feelings and the show's audience. Jitendra Kumar's response to Saanvika's remarks has now surfaced. The actor stated that Saanvika's consent was essential for the kissing scene and that her words were misinterpreted.

In a conversation with a news channel, Jitendra Kumar said, 'I believe Saanvika's words were misconstrued. When the kissing scene idea emerged, I myself asked the creators to seek her approval first. Her consent was crucial. We wanted to make the scene amusingly awkward, like as if we're about to kiss, but then the lights go out. Later, it was shot differently.'

'Secretary Ji' Responds on Saanvika's Kiss Refusal

Jitendra further explained that he does not feel uneasy about on-screen kissing. He is comfortable with kissing scenes unless they're intended to add flavor to the storyline. The actor said, 'I have kissed Ayushmann Khurrana in 'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan,' and I have previously kissed several actresses on screen. As an actor, it has never made me uncomfortable. But, whether it's a kiss or a scene, it should convey the narrative and please the audience.'

In reality, Saanvika revealed that the series' director discussed the kissing scene with her, where initially, it was quite different but later modified. The actress mentioned needing two days to consider it, as 'Panchayat' is viewed by all kinds of audiences, particularly families. This made her uncomfortable with the kissing scene. Eventually, the kiss between Secretary Ji and Rinki was filmed differently.

It should be noted that following the success of 'Panchayat' Season 4, the creators have also announced its fifth season. They delivered this good news to fans by sharing an official poster on Instagram, revealing that the next season of the series would premiere in 2026.
