The leader of the Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) and member of the legislative assembly from Siraathu, Uttar Pradesh, Pallavi Patel, has ended her protest. On Monday night, Pallavi concluded her protest after the arrival of Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana and his assurance of suitable action.
Notably, Pallavi Patel was demanding action while accusing a scam and bribery in the appointments within the Department of Technical Education in Uttar Pradesh. She sat in protest near the statue of Chaudhary Charan Singh at the UP Vidhan Bhavan with this demand.
The Allegation: Filling Positions by Promotion Only
Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) leader Pallavi Patel accused bribery in the appointments. She claims that, according to AICTE rules, lecturer appointments were to be conducted through open recruitment, but the department instead filled them through promotions. Across the state, 250 lecturers were promoted and made department heads in various polytechnic colleges.
Took Charge as Minister in 2022
When questioned about this issue, UP Government Minister and Apna Dal (Sonelal) Executive President Ashish Patel stated, 'We took over the responsibilities of this department as a minister in 2022. Efforts were made to implement the AICTE pay scale, which was already applicable in the degree sector, into the diploma sector. However, the departmental selection rules are still under preparation.'
Propose a CBI Investigation, Everything Will Be Revealed
He further added, 'I made decisions as the department head and stand by them. Anyone objecting may have a probe conducted. I've appealed to the Chief Minister through social media to initiate a CBI investigation to reveal the truth. All decisions made by me should be scrutinized. Since taking over the department, I have dismantled the copying racket.'
No Disclosure of Source of Operations
Targeting Pallavi Patel, Ashish remarked, 'There is no need to disclose where Pallavi Patel is operating from. The world knows about those who choose their timing to operate.'
