Maoist Commander Worth 1.5 Million Rupees Slain Over Internal Strife

In Jharkhand's Latehar district, internal conflicts led to the murder of a CPI (Maoist) commander, who had a bounty of 1.5 million rupees on his head. Police revealed details of his death on Wednesday.

Palamu Range DIG, Y.S. Ramesh, explained that the zone's commander, Chhotu Kherwar, was allegedly murdered by other Maoists on Tuesday night in the Chipadohar area's Bhimpal forest. His body was retrieved from the jungle.

DIG Y.S. Ramesh informed PTI that after receiving news of the incident, police personnel were dispatched to the remote site to recover the body.

According to DIG Y.S. Ramesh, the notorious Chhotu Kherwar was wanted in numerous criminal cases. An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of his death.
