The Remarkable Journey of 50 Years
Reflecting on the first edition of India Today Magazine in 1975, Arun Puri underscored their mission: presenting the truth, asking tough questions, and showcasing the real India. Even after 50 years, this mission is not just sustained but has strengthened.
Recalling India Today's contributions over the decades, he noted the group's significant coverage of India's modern history over 50 years, including reports on 11 Prime Ministers, 15 governments, and 350 elections. A recent interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin exemplifies how staying relevant means evolving with the times.
During the bell-ringing ceremony, NSE's Managing Director & CEO Ashish Chauhan praised the India Today Group's ability to thrive for 50 years. From a magazine to television, multiple TV channels, and now into social media and web presence, the journey has been commendable.
Chauhan also lauded Arun Puri for his integrity and dedication to truthful journalism over the years, sharing a personal note about growing up reading India Today and today, never missing 'Aaj Tak' before bed.
