The Chief of the Pakistani Army and Field Marshal Aasim Munir is headed to the United States once again. His upcoming visit is scheduled for this month, marking his second trip to the US in just two months. These frequent visits highlight the deepening bilateral ties between the US and Pakistan.

He will attend the farewell ceremony of General Michael Kurilla, the Commander of United States Central Command (CENTCOM), in Washington. Kurilla has previously praised Pakistan as a remarkable partner in combating terrorism during his tenure.

General Kurilla, who leads the US Army in the Middle East, is set to retire by the end of this month. A few months ago, Kurilla commended Pakistan for its pivotal role, using American intelligence to apprehend five ISIS terrorists.

Kurilla stated at the time that Pakistan has been an exemplary partner in tackling global terrorism. Consequently, it's vital to fortify relationships with both Pakistan and India.

A Global Headline: Munir and Trump Share Lunch

In June this year, Aasim Munir made headlines when he dined with President Donald Trump during his five-day visit in Pakistan. Their engaging conversation lasted nearly two hours. White House spokesperson Anna Kelly later revealed that President Trump invited General Munir due to Munir's recommendation for a Nobel Peace Prize to prevent a potential nuclear war between India and Pakistan.

Moreover, President Donald Trump recently announced an additional 25% tariff on India. The tariffs stem from India's ongoing importation of low-cost crude oil from Russia post the Ukraine conflict, bringing the total US tariff on India to 50%.

In contrast, the US recently struck an Oil Deal with Pakistan. This trade and energy agreement entails cooperation in developing Pakistan's substantial oil reserves.

Field Marshal Aasim Munir's frequent visits to the US underscore pivotal political and strategic alliances.

With strengthening ties between the nations, Munir’s engagements hint at future collaborations in defense and energy sectors.

His significant meeting with President Trump highlighted potential peace projects.
