Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif warned of a potential all-out war with India. In an interview with Britain's Sky News, he expressed concern over the threat of full-scale war between two nuclear-armed nations.
Khawaja Asif urged President Donald Trump to intervene in the crisis, emphasizing that this dialogue could lead to a peaceful resolution.
Following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, where 26 innocent tourists were killed, tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated. Evidence linking Pakistani elements to the attack has surfaced, prompting accusations against Pakistan.
Asif denied these claims, suggesting India orchestrated the firing under a 'false flag' operation. He proclaimed Pakistan's army is prepared for any scenario amidst rising tensions and diplomatic maneuvers.
...An All-Out War Could Erupt
Minister Khawaja Asif stated, "We will respond measuredly to any moves by India. If an all-out war occurs, or anything of that magnitude, it will indeed be comprehensive."
When questioned if the world should be worried, he responded: "Yes, I believe so. Conflict between two nuclear powers is always alarming. If things spiral out of control, the consequences could be tragic."
After the attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed to hunt down and punish those responsible "to the ends of the earth."
Asif accused India of creating these situations but acknowledged, "We should resolve our issues through dialogue."
Trump Should Intervene
Asked whether President Trump should engage in resolving the crisis, Asif asserted, "Absolutely. He leads the world's sole superpower and is engaged in dialogue at various global flashpoints."
He added, "This is another flashpoint where two nuclear powers are involved. Attention must be given to this situation, and if the global power can foster understanding here, it would be beneficial."
Notably, the U.S. condemned the terror attack in India. Tammy Bruce, a U.S. Department of State spokesperson, reiterated America's support for India, denouncing all acts of terrorism. She expressed prayers for the victims and wished a swift recovery for the injured, urging justice for the attack's perpetrators.
Asif weighed in, stating if India initiates any actions, Pakistan will respond likewise. "We have no choice, no alternatives whatsoever."
