The Pahalgam terror attack claimed the lives of an Indian Navy officer and an Intelligence Bureau official. Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who was stationed in Kochi, had recently gotten married on April 19th and was in Kashmir for his honeymoon.

Lieutenant Vinay Narwal hailed from Haryana. His wife is safe. The couple had arrived in Srinagar on Monday before heading to Pahalgam for sightseeing. Following the incident, a picture of his wife with her husband's body circulated on social media.

Originally from Karnal, Haryana

Vinay Narwal lived in Sector 7 of Karnal. He joined the Navy two years ago and had recently visited Srinagar. His family still resides in Sector 7, Karnal. Upon hearing the news, some family members have left for Srinagar.

'We were just having Bhelpuri...'

In a trembling voice, his wife shared, 'We were just having Bhelpuri... and then they shot my husband.' She said, 'The gunman stated my husband was not Muslim and then shot him.'

Shot in Front of Wife and Children

In Pahalgam, Manish Ranjan, a section officer from Hyderabad's Intelligence Bureau, was martyred in front of his wife and children during the terror attack on Tuesday afternoon. Several IB officers, who were with their families, were part of a travel group during the attack.

'Please Save My Husband'

A heart-wrenching video from the scene shows another woman pleading for help, 'Please save my husband,' she cried, her voice nearly lost in sobs.

The person recording tried to console the woman as two men lay bloody and unconscious nearby.

In another clip, a woman attending to a severely injured man was frantically calling for help, 'Sir, please, please, seek help immediately.'

This attack occurred in Pahalgam's Baisaran Valley, a popular tourist destination accessible only by foot or horseback. The Resistance Front, a group linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the attack.

Mehbooba Mufti, leader of the People's Democratic Party, condemned the terror attack in Pahalgam. She expressed on social media, 'I strongly condemn the cowardly attack on tourists in Pahalgam, which led to a tragic loss of life and injuries. Such violence is unacceptable and must be condemned.'
