Bhavish said, we're once again the number one electric scooter brand, with the company's share in the electric two-wheeler segment now at 25%." What's Special in the Third Generation:
OLA Electric claims the third generation model is built on an entirely new platform. It features a brand-new powertrain. Unlike previous versions equipped with hubless motors, this new scooter uses a dynamic mid-drive electric motor. The motor control unit (MCU) and electric motor are housed within a single box. The company asserts that this powertrain offers an increased driving range than ever before.
Chain Drive:
The third generation models utilize a chain drive system instead of the conventional belt drive. This upgrade enhances the scooter’s performance, and the company has dedicated efforts to optimize the sound of the chain drive. The second generation models employed a belt drive system.
Patented Brake-by-Wire Technology:
Incorporating their patented brake-by-wire technology, OLA Electric’s third generation scooters revolutionize traditional braking. Generally, applying brakes on any two-wheeler generates heat from kinetic energy, affecting brake pad longevity and mileage. However, the brake-by-wire technology uses a patented brake sensor to recognize braking patterns and emergencies, combining mechanical and electronic braking. The kinetic energy is converted into electricity, charging the battery. This technology is touted to improve range by 15% and double the lifespan of brake pads.
