Odisha: Youths Tied and Beaten, One Dead, Three Critical

In Balasore district of Odisha, four young men were tied to an electric pole and beaten on suspicion of theft at a clothing store. One died and three are critically injured. Police have arrested the suspects and commenced an investigation.

A shocking case of murder has emerged from Odisha's Balasore district. In Saratha village, four young men were brutally beaten on suspicion of theft. In this incident, 32-year-old Trilochan died on the spot, while three others, 35-year-old Satish Singh, 31-year-old Tapua Mahanti, and 19-year-old Tapan Pradhan were critically injured. Upon receiving information, the police arrived at the scene, took possession of the body, and sent it for post-mortem while initiating an investigation.

According to the police, cash and clothing were stolen last night from a clothing store owned by a man named Ajay Das in Saratha village. Suspecting Trilochan and his companions, Ajay and some family members, along with other villagers, tied the four youths to an electric pole at Odishla Chawk. They were then beaten with iron rods and sticks.

Victim Trilochan succumbed to his injuries on the spot, while the other injured were initially treated at Basta Hospital and later shifted to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital as their condition worsened. Based on complaints from the victims' families, the police have registered a case of murder and attempted murder.

Under the leadership of IIC Bhuvan Mohan Sethi from Singla Police Station, the police team inspected the scene. The SP stated that the suspects have been arrested in this case. A case has been registered against them under sections BNS 137(2), 127(2), 115(2), 118(1), 109, 103(1), 3(5) and the investigation is underway.
