An explosive AC burst caused a devastating fire in a Noida multi-story society, engulfing numerous flats in flames. The incident occurred in Lotus Boulevard, Sector 100, Noida. The blast led to chaos as residents scrambled for safety.

Residents of surrounding flats rushed to the ground, fearing the fire's spread. Firefighters were immediately alerted and efforts to tame the blaze are underway.

Just this Wednesday, a similar AC explosion sparked a fire in a Ghaziabad flat. Fortunately, there were no casualties and the fire department controlled the blaze within an hour.

What causes AC explosions?
Dirt accumulation:

Filth on the AC condenser can cause malfunctions. If the AC can't expel heat, it may overheat and explode without shutting off.

Poor wiring:

Subpar wires, plugs, sockets, and circuit breakers in AC units can lead to fires. Using quality components reduces the risk.

Power fluctuations:

Voltage instability can impact ACs and other electronics, posing a fire risk.

Incorrect gas usage:

Air conditioners require specific gases like Freon or Puron, which are non-flammable but contribute to global warming. Using the wrong gas can cause overheating and fires.

To prevent AC-related incidents, regular cleaning is vital. Additionally, ensure proper installation for easy water drainage.
