Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched a veiled attack on the Lalu family during a campaign for the NDA candidate in Banmankhi, Purnia, stirring up controversy. He accused the family of nepotism and corruption on Saturday, saying that Lalu Prasad Yadav had to relinquish his position due to corruption cases and subsequently appointed his wife as the Chief Minister. Now, he’s promoting his children.
Nitish commented, ‘They’ve produced a large brood. Is there a need to have so many children?’ Continuing his assault against the Lalu family, Nitish questioned, ‘Their daughters and two sons are already active in politics. What exactly do they do? They seem to only grab headlines with their sensational remarks.’
