The election campaign is in full swing, with leaders conducting back-to-back rallies and meetings. The era of controversial statements is also well underway, leading to various incidents of leaders misspeaking. The latest incident emerged from Bihar, where a leader from Lalu Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) proclaimed from the stage that their goal was to defeat Rohini Acharya. Notably, Lalu Yadav was present on the stage at that time.

In Saran, Bihar, Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Rohini Acharya is contesting the elections on an RJD ticket. A public gathering had been organized on Wednesday for her campaign, which Lalu Prasad Yadav was in attendance. It was during this event that RJD's MLC Sunil Kumar Singh was giving his speech.

Swift Damage Control Follows the Slip of Tongue

During the speech, Singh misspoke and said, 'I only want to say this to RJD leaders, defeat Rohini Acharya with a massive vote margin.' However, shortly after this slip, Singh realized his mistake and executed damage control by saying, 'Oh... I mean, ensure her victory so that future history remembers Rohini Acharya.'

Rohini Acharya: Lalu Family's Second Daughter to Enter Politics

Rohini Acharya, a professional doctor, had married an American-based software engineer Samaresh Singh in 2002. Until her candidacy in Saran, Rohini was residing in Singapore. Rohini, following her sister Misa Bharti, is the second of Lalu Yadav's daughters to join politics. When Lalu Yadav's health deteriorated, and doctors recommended a kidney transplant, Rohini donated her kidney. The transplant took place in Singapore, and Lalu stayed at Rohini's house during the recovery. Rohini is also known for her political posts on her social media handles.

BJP Nominates Rajiv Pratap Rudy Once Again

Following the announcement of Rohini's candidacy by the RJD, she kickstarted her public outreach campaign on April 2nd. Before launching the campaign, Rohini visited the Hariharanath Temple with her father Lalu Yadav, mother Rabri Devi, and sister Misa Bharti for a ceremonial worship. It's notable that the BJP has re-nominated the incumbent MP Rajeev Pratap Rudy to contest from the Saran seat.
