The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) displayed remarkable solidarity in Delhi on Sunday. Chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this pivotal meeting saw participation from Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from 20 states. Three major political and strategic messages emerged from the meet: commendation for decisive national security actions, support for caste-based census for social justice, and an unwavering focus on development as a top priority. A clear strategy for the Bihar Legislative Assembly elections by the NDA was also outlined.
During the meeting, congratulatory proposals for Operation Sindoor and the caste-based census were put forward. Shiv Sena leader and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that Operation Sindoor has instilled a new wave of confidence and pride among ordinary Indians.
'Who dares to challenge us...'
Eknath Shinde asserted, 'We have demonstrated that anyone who challenges us will be defeated.' This is not just an expression but the truth. 'Operation Sindoor' has given ordinary Indians newfound self-assurance and respect. We salute the policies of the central government, the courage of our army, and the valor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
'People of the nation are proud of PM Modi'
Shinde remarked that Modi declared three days ago, 'Modi has blood hot as sindoor coursing through his veins.' The nation's 140 crore citizens are proud of you, Modi Ji. It's a privilege for the Indian people to have a courageous, brave, and selfless patriot as their Prime Minister. We express our gratitude to Prime Minister Modi Ji for his exceptional and valiant leadership during such a critical period. Particularly, he consistently supports our defense forces in overcoming severe security challenges. History will remember Operation Sindoor as a forceful response to those who sought to undermine India's peaceful development. It highlights the NDA government's unshakeable commitment to India's sovereignty and the security of its citizens above all else.

'United in matters of national interest'
Eknath Shinde further stated that India will respond decisively to any terrorist attack on its own terms. India will never accept nuclear blackmail and will differentiate neither between terrorists nor the governments that sponsor them. In the coming days, leaders from various parties will visit different countries to discuss India’s commitment to peace and the elimination of terrorism. This statesman-like approach from Prime Minister Modi sends a clear message to the world that we are all united in matters of national interest.
Shinde declared that the NDA, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, is determined to persist in its work with renewed resolution towards a safe, prosperous, and united India. He concluded by expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister for convening the Council of Chief Ministers of NDA-ruled states.

Eighteen Deputy Chief Ministers in Attendance
Prior to joining the NDA meeting, Prime Minister Modi was welcomed by BJP President JP Nadda, along with leaders including Eknath Shinde and Pawan Kalyan. The attendees included Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Mahji, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio. Eighteen Deputy Chief Ministers were also present.
Significance of the Meeting
The primary objective of the critical NDA meeting was both governance-oriented and political, emphasizing new good governance and development plans. The Bihar election emerges as an issue of concern. Chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the meeting also featured BJP National President JP Nadda, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, and Home Minister Amit Shah. Two proposals were passed on.

The first proposal was passed to congratulate the Indian armed forces and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the success of 'Operation Sindoor.' The second proposal praised the government's decision to collect caste-based data during the upcoming census, a move particularly intertwined with demands for social balance and representation in states like Bihar. The NDA is intent on not letting the opposition utilize caste-based politics as a spearhead against them. Experts perceive this proposal as solidifying the NDA's stance on social justice, challenging the opposition's dominance on this matter.
The presence of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the commendation proposal on caste census suggest the NDA's preparedness for upcoming elections. This marks the first major meeting since the formation of NDA-3 in 2024.
