An espionage plot in India has been uncovered, leaving security agencies in shock. What started with the Jyoti spy case is now unveiling the layers of a Pakistani conspiracy. In various parts of the country, over 15 spies have been apprehended. Moreover, numerous startling revelations have emerged during interrogations.
The latest incident is from Varanasi, where the UP Anti-Terrorism Squad nabbed a spy who was not only ensnared by a Pakistani female agent's charms but was also actively preparing to wage war against India. The accused is Muhammad Tufail, who came into contact with a Pakistani woman, Nafisa, through social media. Nafisa portrayed herself as an ordinary girl.
In reality, she was a senior handler for ISI. Nafisa ensnared Tufail in such a way with her honey trap that he began sending her pictures, videos, and details of India's sensitive locations daily. At Nafisa's request, Tufail kept his mobile's GPS location always on, sending pictures and videos from wherever he went.
Nafisa would urge him, "Seeing you just once is never enough; send pictures from wherever you go." In this mix of love and treason, Tufail gradually became not just a spy but fell prey to a terrorist mindset. Police inquiries revealed that Tufail identified himself as a soldier for 'Ghazwa-e-Hind' and 'Hadith'.

His radicalized thinking became so poisonous that he began recruiting youth into this campaign. His phone contained around 800 Pakistani numbers, and he managed 19 WhatsApp groups, including youths from Varanasi and Azamgarh, whom he incited through videos of Pakistani Maulana Saad.
His communications with Nafisa in Faisalabad revealed that she frequently asked him to send videos from Delhi, Varanasi, and other vital locations. Through this, ISI was gathering information on several sensitive areas in India. Besides, Tufail was also tasked with diverting Indian youths towards radicalism.
It was also discovered that Tufail had been attending radical meetings under the guise of 'Majlis' for several years in states like Kannauj, Hyderabad, and Punjab. His mobile chats referenced avenging the Babri demolition, used to incite youths, although many of these chats were deleted.
The UP ATS is now recovering his mobile data to delve deeper into the conspiracy from every angle. Arrangements to take Tufail into remand in the Lucknow court have been made. Meanwhile, the investigation into another spy, Harun's Pakistani connections, is gaining momentum. Each day, the file on this conspiracy that began with the Jyoti spy case expands with new entries.
