Traffic Challan Waive Off in Lok Adalat:
If you have traffic fines due to traffic rule violations, relax, there's some good news for you! Whether you have old traffic challans or minor cases, you can breathe a sigh of relief. The Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) is organizing a National Lok Adalat tomorrow, Saturday (September 13, 2025). Similarly, the Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority will hold Lok Adalats in Mumbai and other cities, allowing you to settle various minor cases along with traffic challans.
According to information, this Lok Adalat in Delhi will be set up not only in the Delhi High Court but also in all district courts, debt recovery tribunals, the Delhi State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, district consumer disputes redressal commissions, and permanent Lok Adalats. The goal is to resolve minor cases swiftly and peacefully. Court fees are refunded, and the ruling is immediately enforceable. This court will be held from 10 AM to 4 PM.
In this Lok Adalat, you can not only settle your pending traffic challans but can also achieve significant discounts or waivers in many cases. Remember, without a token, your case won't be heard. To handle your challan in Lok Adalat, you must first register online. Let's explore the complete process.
First, visit the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) website. Select the Lok Adalat registration option, fill out the application form, and upload the necessary documents. Once submitted, you will receive a token number and appointment letter via email or mobile, indicating the date, time, and location of the hearing.

The Lok Adalat is extending relief for minor violations, including driving without a seatbelt, riding two-wheelers without helmets, jumping red lights, wrongly issued challans, overspeeding, driving without a valid PUC certificate, parking in no-parking zones, driving without a driver's license, operating a vehicle without a fitness certificate, wrong lane driving, breaking traffic signals, and driving without a number plate.
Serious cases will not be heard in Lok Adalat. Those will be handled in regular courts:
Driving under the influence
Hit and Run cases
Death by negligence
Illegal racing or high-speed accidents
Driving by minors
Vehicles used in crimes
Cases already on trial
Challans issued in other states
Cases in Lok Adalat will be heard based on the token number. Judges will review the challan and may either waive the entire fine or offer concessions. In severe or repeated violations, fines may still apply. Once the order is passed, the case is considered resolved.
Typically, Lok Adalat offers up to 60% discount on traffic challans, though some may see reductions up to 75%. Overall, this Lok Adalat stands as a great relief platform for those with pending challans. If you've ever been fined for not wearing seat belts, helmets, or overspeeding and have avoided paying, don’t miss out on this opportunity.
