Prime Minister Modi's Moscow Visit Bolsters India-Russia Relations, Sets Stage for Bilateral Dialogues

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's highly anticipated two-day visit to Moscow on July 8 and 9 is set to strengthen the long-standing ties between India and Russia. The excitement is mutual, with Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly eager to host the Indian leader.

At the invite of President Putin, Prime Minister Modi's visit, coinciding with the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit, is expected to usher in a new era of bilateral cooperation.

'India-Russia Trade Has Increased'

The Indian Ambassador to Russia, Vinay Kumar, has acclaimed that PM Modi's impending visit comes at a crucial time when global dynamics have evolved considerably over the past three years. He noted that India's commerce with Russia has expanded beyond crude energy and covers a wider range of sectors.

Further highlighting the significance of the exchange, he added that the visit provides a vital opportunity for both leaders to discuss various aspects of the bilateral alliance and other mutual interests.

Agenda for Modi-Putin Dialogue

Ambassador Kumar outlined the planned bilateral discussions, beginning with a private meeting between PM Modi and President Putin, followed by a delegation-level conversation. Additionally, President Putin will host a lunch for the Prime Minister and his delegation, which will also include a tour of an exhibition center and the exchange of documents ready for signing.

PM Modi to Address the Indian Community

During his visit, PM Modi will also engage with the Indian community in Moscow, who are eagerly awaiting his arrival after a span of 9 years. Meanwhile, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal announced via his official social media handle that PM Modi's visit to Russia and Austria is scheduled from July 8 to 10, 2024.
