Rajasthan News:
The Nahargarh Fort of Jaipur stands as a testament to the illustrious history of the desert state. Constructed at the end of the Aravalli mountain range for the protection of Jaipur, this fort holds many stories from the past. Yet, it’s enveloped in a legend of strange occurrences, earning it the title of a haunted place. It's said that a soul wanders these beautiful walls and hills, seeking liberation.
In 1734, King Jai Singh II initiated the construction of this fort, originally named Sudarshangarh. The fort was later remodeled in 1883 by Sawai Madho Singh, who added grand meeting halls and adorned the doors and windows with murals. Yet, unsettling incidents during its construction left everyone terrified.
It is said that construction would proceed in the morning, only for structures to collapse by nightfall. Sudden gusts would shatter the window panes. Troubled by these events, the king consulted a sage who revealed that the spirit of Prince Naharsingh lurked without peace.
Consequently, rituals were performed, and a temple dedicated to Prince Naharsingh was constructed, and the fort was renamed Nahargarh to honor him. Today, visitors still come to receive blessings, but the fort remains the backdrop for many historical occurrences.
On November 25, 2017, Chetan Saini's body was found hanging from this bastion of Nahargarh Fort. The sight of his body suspended by a rope shocked everyone. Below the fort wall, there was a steep drop.
Chetan’s family suspected murder, but police speculated suicide based on circumstantial evidence. Chetan had no known enemies, nor did his call records reveal suspicions. However, a selfie taken at Nahargarh was found on his phone, shortly before the incident.
'The End of Sorcerer Chetan'
Not only this, but engraved messages related to Rani Padmini around the area remain unexplained. Among these, 'Sorcerer Chetan was killed' written on stones and walls fuels the mystery of Chetan Saini's death.
On September 1, 2024, brothers Rahul and Ashish Parashar set off from their home in Shastrinagar, Jaipur, to trek the Nahargarh hills. After visiting Charan Temple, they lost their way returning and became separated. As the police searched, Ashish was found dead on a hill edge, but his brother Rahul remains missing.
Despite extensive search efforts, Rahul was never found, alive or deceased. Ashish’s post-mortem revealed severe injuries to the head and neck, leaving the cause—murder or accident—shrouded in mystery.
Earlier in 2014, the body of a student was found within Nahargarh's grounds. Initially ruled a suicide, further investigation didn't lift the veil of suspicion cast by the family.
Why Do Such Incidents Occur?
A year later in 2015, more inexplicable incidents unfolded within the forests of Nahargarh, affecting tourists and locals alike without a clear explanation. Minor accidents frequently transpire, from cars overturning to people leaping in perilous acts. Known for its adventurous treks, the Nahargarh hill has become a puzzling enigma, provoking the question—why do such incidents persist on its precipice, unsolved by the police and veiled in secrecy?
