Baba Gangagiri’s austere lifestyle, marked by the absence of bathing for 32 years, stems from a condition set during his initiation by his guru. He believes this is central to his spiritual practice and adheres to it with deep commitment. Remarkably, despite not bathing, Baba remains acutely conscious of personal and environmental cleanliness, advocating the purity of the Ganges.

While the heart of Maha Kumbh revolves around the divine dip in the Ganges, Baba Gangagiri abstains. His presence at the Kumbh is chiefly to reunite with his guru, after which he intends to depart.
