Lebanon Pager Blast: Mossad's Remarkable Operations to Stun the Enemy

Pager Blast: The tales of Israel's Mossad are once again in the headlines. This intelligence agency is known for its extraordinary tactics to obliterate enemies. Who knew that a pager worn on the waist could target an entire country? But discussions suggest that Mossad infiltrated the production where these pagers were being made and modified them at the production level.

First the long beep... beep sound, and then the pagers started exploding one by one. The series of explosions continued for a while, and by the time the blasts stopped, about 3000 pagers had exploded in Lebanon. According to the latest reports, 11 people have died so far, and 4000 have been injured. These blasts have not only shaken Lebanon and its neighboring Syria but have also shocked the world.

The needle of suspicion points once again towards Mossad, the world's most powerful intelligence organization. Media agencies like Reuters, Al Jazeera, and The New York Times claim that Mossad hacked a shipment of 5000 pagers coming from Taiwan to Lebanon. Reuters reported, citing senior security agencies in Lebanon, that these pagers were modified at the "production level."

Reuters, quoting Lebanese officials, stated, “Mossad placed a board inside the device containing explosive material that can receive a coded signal. It is very difficult to detect this through any means. Even the use of a device or scanner cannot detect this board.”

Israel's intelligence agency Mossad holds a unique record in the world for its suspense, thriller, and ultra-secret operations. We will tell you stories of Israel's intelligence operations that changed the dynamics of world politics. Otherwise, Iran would be a nuclear-capable nation today. Syria had also built its reactor. But it is said that wherever Mossad's eyes went, everything was obliterated.

Through a combination of espionage, sabotage, and covert operations, Mossad has effectively nullified the military and nuclear ambitions of its adversaries. Mossad primarily employs four types of techniques for this. These techniques are:

Sabotage: Destroying the enemy’s infrastructure

Assassinations: Targeting key enemy figures

Kidnappings: Capturing high-value targets

Infiltration: Gathering intelligence within enemy organizations

Operation Stuxnet:

Israel considers Iran armed with nuclear power a threat to its existence. Iran seemed determined to achieve this nuclear bomb. In January 2010, inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency were visiting the Natanz uranium enrichment plant in Iran. They noticed that the centrifuges used to enrich uranium gas were continuously failing. The reason was completely mysterious. Iranian scientists were baffled.

It was claimed that this entire plan was Mossad's. Stuxnet was actually a dangerous computer virus developed jointly by Mossad and the U.S. National Security Agency. This virus physically damaged Iran’s centrifuges, causing them to spin so fast they failed. Remarkably, these centrifuges were sending normal data reports to Iranian scientists, making it impossible to detect the issue. This virus substantially damaged Iran's nuclear ambitions and delayed its nuclear program.

This virus is believed to have damaged around 1,000 centrifuges. The question remains, how did Israel manage to plant this virus into the highly secured computers at Iran's nuclear plant? This is the very question that makes Mossad what it is, with answers known only to a select few.

Assassination of Iranian Nuclear Scientists:

Israel worked on multiple fronts to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear bomb, including assassinating nuclear scientists. Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was Iran's top nuclear scientist. The world was stunned when this scientist was killed by a remote machine gun equipped with AI features in the last months of 2020.

Iran claims that Israel and some rebel organizations were behind this scientist's assassination. According to a BBC report, Fakhrizadeh was killed when his car was riddled with bullets in the Absard area of eastern Tehran. On this assassination, Iran’s then National Security Council Chief Admiral Shakhani said it was a remote attack using special methods.

Admiral Shakhani said that this was a very complex mission involving electronic devices. He mentioned that no one was present at the scene during the incident.

According to Iranian media reports, remotely controlled machine guns or weapons controlled via satellite were used for this attack.

Operation Plumbat:

Operation Plumbat was a covert operation carried out by Mossad in 1968. The mission aimed to prevent enriched uranium (yellowcake uranium) from falling into Egyptian hands. During this operation, Mossad agents planned to hijack a ship called “Sky” in Norway and capture the uranium.

Mossad agents deceived the ship's crew members and forced them to divert the ship to the Israeli port of Tel Aviv.

In November 1968, when yellowcake uranium was being transported, Israeli agents hijacked the ship in the middle of the sea at night and diverted it to Israel. The uranium was unloaded here. To cover up the operation, fake documents were then issued, and the ship was sent back out to sea. The operation significantly impacted Egypt’s rocket program.

Operation Opera:

Israel will not tolerate nuclear power near its borders under any circumstances. In the 1980s, when Iraq started its nuclear program, Israel quickly became alert. Israel launched an airstrike on Iraq’s Osirak nuclear reactor, which is known as Operation Opera. This plant was still under construction. Tel Aviv feared the reactor would be used to develop nuclear weapons.

Mossad agents infiltrated Iraq and gathered complete information about the nuclear reactor. Then came the role of the Israeli Air Force. Using Mossad’s intelligence inputs, the Israeli Air Force conducted airstrikes and destroyed the reactor.

This attack pushed back Iraq’s nuclear ambitions by several years. Israel faced international criticism for this strike, but at that moment, it succeeded in halting Iraq’s development of nuclear weapons.

Operation Entebbe:

Operation Entebbe was a successful joint mission by the Israeli army and Mossad, carried out on July 4, 1976, at Uganda’s Entebbe Airport. The operation’s goal was to rescue Israeli and other passengers who had been hijacked in Uganda.

On June 27, 1976, Air France Flight 139, flying from Israel to France, was hijacked and taken to Uganda. The hijackers held the passengers at Entebbe Airport.

Israeli army and Mossad formed a team of over 100 commandos. The operation commenced on the night of July 3, 1976. Israeli commandos arrived at the airport in a black Mercedes and some Land Rovers to make it appear as if it was a convoy of Ugandan President Idi Amin. The commandos directly reached the terminal where the hostages were kept. Within 90 minutes, they killed all the terrorists and 45 Ugandan soldiers. They safely rescued 102 hostages. The operation was executed with incredible speed and precision, ending within just 90 minutes.

Mossad's history is filled with many such breathtaking and secretive operations. Who can forget the story of the Israeli athletes’ murder during the Munich Olympics? To avenge their athletes' deaths, Israel named this mission 'Wrath of God.' The agents who carried out this mission were separated from their families for years.
