As June draws to a close, the monsoon has reached most parts of the country, yet some areas in Haryana and Rajasthan are still anticipating its arrival. Despite the onset of monsoon, many states struggle with rainfall shortages while others face destructive downpours. The northern states of India, including the national capital Delhi, have been grappling with a scarcity of rains. Following substantial rainfall on June 28, the monsoon in Delhi has since seen a pause. However, the Meteorological Department unveils a fresh alert for heavy rainfalls once again.
Current satellite imagery suggests that various places in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, northeastern Jharkhand, and the sub-Himalayan regions of West Bengal, among other states, are likely to witness thunder, lightning, and light to moderate rain showers, occasionally intensifying to heavy downpours.
