The monsoon is in active mode across most states of the country. From Himachal Pradesh to Karnataka, rains are causing havoc. While some states have received relief from the oppressive heat due to the rains, others are facing the wrath of heavy downpours. According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon is fully active nationwide. IMD has issued a red alert for Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh on August 1, signaling extremely heavy rainfall and an increased threat of potential flooding.
Alert for Heavy Rain in 5 States
The monsoon is set to bring a heavy rain spell to Northwest India over the next three days, with chances of heavy showers in Delhi NCR. Additionally, Central India is expected to experience active monsoon conditions for the next 4-5 days. Heavy rain is predicted at various locations in states like Central Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka, Eastern Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, and Western Madhya Pradesh.
The Meteorological Department has issued heavy rainfall alerts for Central Maharashtra from August 1 to 3, Coastal Karnataka on August 1, Eastern Madhya Pradesh on August 2 and 3, and Konkan, Goa, and Western Madhya Pradesh on August 3.
Furthermore, the west coast of India will continue to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall on most days of the week, impacting both coastal and inland areas. This continuous rainfall may lead to waterlogging and landslides.
Similarly, moderate rainfall is expected across the entire Northwest, Central, and Eastern regions of India, with heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places. Residents of these states are advised to stay updated with weather forecasts and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for several areas in Delhi-NCR. Moderate rainfall is expected in Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad today. There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain in Delhi and nearby areas till August 2. After that, the intensity of the rain may decrease. According to IMD, the maximum temperature in Delhi can range between 33 to 35 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature can be around 24 to 27 degrees Celsius throughout the week.
