While addressing an event at an educational institute in Hyderabad, Telangana, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat stated that the RSS has always supported all reservations in accordance with the Constitution, though certain individuals are spreading false videos. He expressed the view of RSS that reservation should continue as long as it is necessary and that never has the Sangh Parivar opposed the reservations allotted to certain groups.

Last year in Nagpur, Mohan Bhagwat had stated that as long as there is societal discrimination, reservations should continue. Discrimination, though invisible, persists within society.

This statement from Mohan Bhagwat comes in light of the ongoing verbal duel between the BJP and Congress regarding reservations.

What is the reservation conflict between Congress and BJP?

In a rally in Madhya Pradesh, PM Modi labeled Congress as 'the worst enemy of the OBC community' and denounced the party for, once again, including all Muslim castes through the back door to assign religious-based reservations in Karnataka. This move deprived the OBC community of a significant part of the reservations entitlement. When the controversy escalated, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah dismissed claims that Congress had transferred reservations from backward classes to Muslims as a blatant lie. He also questioned whether former Prime Minister Deve Gowda still stands by his support for a Muslim quota or has he capitulated before Narendra Modi, as it was Deve Gowda who had initiated this.

Siddaramaiah further asked if Deve Gowda, who once claimed to implement reservations for Muslims, will capitulate before Narendra Modi and change his previous stance or will he clarify his position to the state's people.
