The trial in the renowned Saurabh Rajput murder case of Meerut has commenced in the district court. Charges of murder and tampering with evidence have been filed against 28-year-old Muskan Rastogi and her lover Sahil in the district judge's court. To ensure the harshest punishment for Muskan and Sahil, police have filed a thousand-page charge sheet in the Saurabh murder case. It’s known that Muskan, with Sahil’s help, murdered her husband and filled a drum with his body parts, sealing it with cement.
This chilling incident occurred on the night of March 3, 2025, when Muskan, alongside her lover Sahil, executed the murder of her husband, Saurabh. They dismembered the body, stored it in a blue drum, filled it with cement, and went on a trip. The murder was revealed on March 18, though Saurabh was killed on March 3. The police arrested and incarcerated both. During the investigation, Muskan's pregnancy also came to light.
A Thousand-Page Charge Sheet Filed
On May 12, police filed a thousand-page charge sheet in this case, citing a love affair as the motive for the murder. On Monday, both were secretly brought to court under tight security, where charges were framed. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for June 23.
Revelation of Saurabh’s Murder on March 18
DG Crime Krishna Kumar Chaubey stated that 34 witnesses have been named in the case. The sources of the medicines, cement, and drum have been confirmed. He emphasized that this is a grave crime, and they aim to secure the maximum punishment.
