Eric Trump, son of the former U.S. President Donald Trump, has launched a sharp attack on New York's newly elected Mayor Zohran Mamdani. He claimed Mamdani harbors animosity towards the Indian community and propagates a socialist communist agenda.
During an interview with Fox News, Trump Jr. characterized Mamdani as a 'socialist communist' who wants to 'nationalize grocery stores, arrest Netanyahu, despises Jewish people, and hates the Indian population.'
He emphasized that Mamdani should focus on basic issues like 'safe streets, clean streets, and reasonable taxes,' suggesting that the city could thrive 'without government intervention.'
Eric's Concern Over Mamdani's Election
Eric Trump described Mamdani's rise as a leftist leader as a signal of broader decline in New York. He stated, 'Far-left policies are weakening major American cities.' He highlighted Mamdani as a prime example of this alleged 'radical' shift, suggesting it could be detrimental to the city's future.
34-year-old Mamdani is set to become New York's first Muslim, South Asian, and African-origin mayor. His victory has sparked strong reactions among conservative circles in the U.S.
Trump Has Crticized Mamdani Too
Political analysts suggest that Eric Trump's statement is part of a Republican campaign portraying Mamdani as a 'radical leftist threat.' However, Mamdani has refrained from responding to personal attacks.
Previously, Donald Trump also criticized Mamdani, threatening to deport him over concerns with citizenship and ICE operations, which Mamdani denounced as an 'abuse of power.' Eric Trump also compared Mamdani to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, whom they accuse of stopping Amazon's New York headquarters.
Mamdani, who takes office on January 1, said on election night, 'Donald Trump, if you're watching, turn up the volume. This is the city that birthed you.'
