The Indian Army, Manipur Police, and other security forces have successfully conducted raids in Imphal East, Tengnoupal, Yangangpokpi, and Churachandpur, uncovering a cache of weapons, ammunition, and other war materials. Officials disclosed these operations on Sunday.

Based on intelligence inputs, last Monday in Imphal East, a joint search operation was initiated, leading to the recovery of a light machine gun, a 12-bore single-barrel shotgun, a 9mm pistol, two tube launchers, explosives, ammunition, and other war materials.

In Tengnoupal District, on December 27, the Assam Rifles and Manipur Police commenced a joint operation. This mission led to the discovery of a weapon manufacturing factory, yielding 303 rifles, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and grenades. Three bases located at an elevation on NH-102 were identified and dismantled during the operation.

Moreover, between December 27-28, 2024, security forces received information about weapon movements on roads towards Yangangpokpi. The soldiers from the Indian Army set up a mobile checkpoint on the Lamlonge-Yangganapokpi road, where during inspections, two double-barrel shotguns and a single-bore rifle were recovered from two vehicles and handed over to Manipur Police.

In addition, in Churachandpur, the Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched an operation on December 27 near Langhnom Wangkhok village. During this operation, a construction post on NH-2 in Langhnom Wangkhok village was identified, suspected to be used by miscreants. The area is under vigorous patrol, and the half-completed structure has been demolished to thwart any potential malevolent activities.
