In an astonishing case of fraud in Mumbai, a man, posing as an astrologer with the help of his accomplices, duped a woman. When the woman realized the fraud, she reported the matter to the police. Upon receiving her complaint, the authorities initiated an investigation against the man who claimed to be an astrologer and five others.
According to the police, the 57-year-old woman, who lives in the suburban area of Borivali, had been deceived by 28-year-old astrologer Vijay Balu Joshi and his associates since January 2020. The accused had promised the woman a partnership in a hotel business, for which he swindled 52.80 lakh rupees (over $70,000) and gold jewelry weighing 268 grams.
