Security arrangements have been tightened outside 'Bang Bhavan,' the West Bengal guest house located in the Chanakyapuri area of the national capital, Delhi. An elite team of 22 members arrived from West Bengal by air last night and was immediately deployed to secure the guest house.
The visuals emerging from Banga Bhavan reveal heightened security with vigilant monitoring of everyone entering or exiting the premises. This measure has been taken to ensure the safety of the official guest houses belonging to West Bengal in the national capital.
Officials have not disclosed the reasons behind this increased security level, but this contingent of 22 security personnel will now oversee the safe stay of Bengal's guests in Delhi. Meanwhile, Delhi Police forces are positioned around the main gate and nearby areas of Banga Bhavan.
'Delhi Police intimidating people from Bengal...'
Mamata Banerjee, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) Supremo and Chief Minister of Bengal, on Monday accused the Delhi Police of intimidating and harassing those from Bengal who have come to reside in the nation's capital.
On camera, Mamata Banerjee was seen conversing with the Delhi police personnel stationed outside Bang Bhavan. She confronted the officers, asking, "What are you doing here? Why are you threatening our people? They have come seeking justice. Please stop harassing simple villagers."
Mamata Banerjee alleged that these deployment measures were instated to instill fear and restrict movement.
On Monday, in a delegation led by Mamata Banerjee and the party's National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) arrived in New Delhi to meet the Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar with a list of discrepancies noted during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) practice.
