According to reports, when police officers urged participants to follow the predetermined route, some objected. Tensions escalated when the police enforced the route strictly. It is also reported that some participants engaged in physical altercations with the police.
The religious procession is continuing, but the authorities have warned of action against participants seen pushing or shoving police officers. To prevent further escalation, the administration has prepared thoroughly. The district Superintendent of Police has arrived at the scene with a convoy, and the entire area has been turned into a fortification.
