In a landmark decision, the MP/MLA court has acquitted former MP and influential leader Dhananjay Singh in the double murder case at Belaw, Jaunpur. Judge Mohd. Sharik Siddiqui delivered the verdict, exonerating Dhananjay Singh and four others.

Dhananjay Singh, reacting to the court's decision, expressed his strong belief that justice would prevail. He stated the entire case was politically motivated, occurring when he was a BSP Member of Parliament. Back then, he had visited Amar Singh in jail, leading to his expulsion from the party. Subsequently, he was prohibited from entering the district, and Section 144 was imposed against him.

Dhananjay recalled a murder incident around January-February 2010, and in November 2011, his name was included in the allegations. He refrained from apologizing to the party, which compounded the issues. Despite the CB-CID conducting two probes, it took a grueling 15 years to finally attain justice.

Dhananjay Singh's lawyer, Umesh Shukla, elaborated that the double murder took place at Belaw Ghat in 2010, investigated by three officers. A year and a half later, charges were filed against Singh and others. However, no evidence substantiated these charges. Although 20 witnesses were presented, none corroborated the allegations. The trial persisted for almost 15 years. Shukla pointed out the entire case as a political vendetta.
