It's been 10 days since the Maharashtra assembly election results (November 23). Yet, the name of the new Chief Minister remains undecided. Despite the ongoing turmoil within the Mahayuti alliance, Maharashtra's political mystery remains unsettled. Acting CM Shinde is unwell. Pawar is on his way to Delhi, but the decisive meeting remains pending.

The struggle for a new Chief Minister in Maharashtra continues, with acting CM Eknath Shinde falling ill once more. Following his illness, Shinde has canceled all his meetings today. Reports indicate that Eknath Shinde has a throat infection and a fever.

The Mahayuti meeting postponed again

Eknath Shinde has been in Thane since last evening (December 1). He hasn’t returned to his official residence, Varsha. Due to Shinde’s health condition, the Mahayuti leaders' meeting has been postponed. Discussions about the distribution of power and departments, including the Ministry of Home, Urban Development, and Revenue, will be stalled today. Meanwhile, Ajit Pawar is departing for Delhi.

Throat infection, high fever

Notably, Shinde fell ill on December 1 while he was at his ancestral village in Satara. He had a throat infection and high fever but managed to travel back to Thane in the meantime.

Statement from Shinde's son emerges

Today, Eknath Shinde's son, Shrikant Shinde, made a social media post. On a platform previously known as Twitter, he wrote, 'There has been a slight delay in the oath-taking ceremony of the Mahagathbandhan government. There are many discussions and rumors about this. CM Shinde had traveled to the village for 2 days due to illness. Rumors about me becoming the Deputy CM were spread. There is no truth in it. All news about me becoming Deputy CM are baseless.'

Not in the race for ministerial position: Shrikant

Shrikant Shinde stated that after the Lok Sabha elections, he had the opportunity to become a minister in the central government. However, he refused the ministerial position to work for the party organization. He clarified again, 'I have no desire for any position in power. I reiterate that I am not in the race for any ministerial position in the state.'
