Upon being contacted by India Today TV for comments on Sanjay Raut's allegations and the video, Shirsat accused it of being a conspiracy to frame him, stating that he had no knowledge about the money.

Shirsat told India Today TV, "I had just returned from a journey, removed my clothes, and was sitting in my bedroom. My pet dog was with me; someone may have shot the video at that time. I have no idea about the money. If I had that much money, I would have kept it in a wardrobe. We don't have any Matoshree (Uddhav Thackeray's residence). Someone must have filmed the video, and they are purposefully constructing a narrative."

This video surfaced a day after the Income Tax Department issued a notice to Aurangabad (West) MLA Shirsat. Shirsat stated he soon plans to clear his stance with the central agency.

According to the PTI news agency, Shirsat said, "Some individuals lodged complaints, and the Income Tax Department took note. We have requested time to respond to the notice and will clarify our position." He further expressed, "Some people have issues with me, but I will respond; the system is at work, and I have no problem with it. I am not under any pressure."
