"If you claim that you have struck key enemy centers, considering it a legitimate statement, then India argues with you: I have struck in Bahawalpur, I have struck in Muridke, I have attacked centers that were against us in Kashmir. Why do you object to India?"

In Karachi's Lyari, a political storm was set off by Mawlawi Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), questioning the Pakistan Army's Chief, Asim Munir.

Mawlawi Fazlur Rehman visited Karachi's Lyari on December 21, 2025, where he was the keynote speaker at the "Tahaffuz Diniya Madaris" conference. At this event, he addressed multiple issues.

Rehman directly criticized the army's policy and claimed that because of the military, relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan have deteriorated. He called for new elections, stating that the current government, established through election rigging, must step down.

Criticizing Army Chief Asim Munir's Afghanistan policy, Fazlur Rehman remarked that Pakistan desires an Afghanistan supportive of Pakistan. However, from Zahir Shah to Ashraf Ghani, Afghanistan's governments have leaned towards India rather than Pakistan. This has been a continuous trend.

He asserted that if you bomb Kabul, it is akin to someone bombing Islamabad. Questioning the Pakistani army, he asked how the Taliban could tolerate bombings over Kabul.

Why Object to India?

During Operation Sindoor, he justified India's strikes on terrorist bases in Muridke and Bahawalpur and questioned Pakistan's military,

"If you state that you have targeted enemy centers, and claim it as rightful, then India tells you: I have attacked in Bahawalpur, I have struck in Muridke, I have targeted centers that were aggressive towards us in Kashmir. Why do you object to India? If you do, then Afghanistan's related allegations stand; what will be your answer then?"

Mawlawi Fazlur questioned if you justify actions against Afghanistan, then how can you call India's actions inappropriate.

Has Our Afghan Policy Failed?

The chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam told the Pakistan army that you struck Iran, and questioned what would happen if Iran retaliated. He highlighted why the army's attitude towards Iran and Afghanistan is inconsistent, suggesting Afghanistan's government is weaker.

Rehman said, "We should not merely assess Afghanistan based on current happenings. We need to review our 78-year-long Afghanistan policy. There has never truly been a friendly Afghan government towards Pakistan. Could this indicate a failure in our policy? If we construct a narrative, we would likely place blame on others, but we must also self-reflect and ask ourselves if our Afghanistan policy has failed. This should be up for debate."

Operation Sindoor: India's Retaliation for the Pahalgam Attack

Operation Sindoor was initiated by the Indian Armed forces on May 7, 2025. It was a military response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, 2025.

India enacted precise missile and aerial strikes on nine terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir, including Muridke, Bahawalpur, and Muzaffarabad, coordinated by the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy. Over 100 terrorists were reportedly eliminated in these assaults.

Additionally, India destroyed numerous airbases and weapon systems belonging to its adversaries.
