Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharkwal has leveled serious allegations against the Police Commissioner, claiming her calls are ignored and voicing dissatisfaction with police actions. This stems from an incident where shanty dwellers attacked a municipal corporation team in Lucknow.
Mayor Sushma Kharkwal visited the Indira Nagar police station to gather information on the actions taken. Some individuals were detained for attacking the municipal team, and several slums were bulldozed.
Dissatisfaction with Police Action
Despite these measures, Mayor Kharkwal is dissatisfied with the police's response and has accused them of not handling the situation adequately. Reports on Sunday indicated that individuals illegally collecting waste attacked the municipal team and assaulted female staff members.
Upon receiving news of the attack, the Mayor, along with the Municipal Commissioner and the Joint Police Commissioner, arrived onsite with a substantial police force. The municipal corporation took action, using bulldozers to clear several shanties, while police detained some individuals.

The incident took place in the Chandan area of the Indira Nagar police station sector in Lucknow, where seven to eight families constructed huts. These individuals, who claim to be from Assam, were involved in collecting waste around the city.
The situation escalated when, on Sunday morning, these individuals attacked the municipal corporation team. Upon hearing about the attack, Mayor Kharkwal quickly arrived at the scene with a significant police presence. Subsequently, bulldozers were called in to demolish the shanties.
