Here’s the detailed account of this grim incident...

The accused, Arshad, hails from Kuberpur in Agra district. Recently, he took his family to Ajmer and then brought them to Lucknow, staying at Hotel Sharanjeet. All seven family members had been lodged in room number 109 since December 30. That fatal night, Arshad, alongside his father, murdered his mother Asma and four sisters: Alia (9), Alshiya (19), Aksa (16), and Rahmeen (18).

After committing the crime, Arshad confessed on video that he murdered his mother and sisters with his own hands. He blamed his neighbors for harassing them and wanting to take their house, saying they were left wandering aimlessly during winter without any recourse despite raising their voices multiple times.

The Motive Behind Arshad's Actions

During initial questioning, the accused revealed that his family's harassment by neighbors in Agra led him to fear for their future, prompting him to commit the murders. Arshad, fearing what would happen to his mother and sisters if something happened to him, decided to end their lives. He took his family to Ajmer before bringing them to Lucknow, where they stayed at the hotel. A night of food and celebration ensued, followed by the massacre.

Police have recovered the murder weapon blade and scarf based on the accused’s testimony. Detailed interrogation of the accused is ongoing.
