In Uttar Pradesh's capital, Lucknow, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh virtually inaugurated the BrahMos Supersonic Cruise Missile production unit within the Defense Industrial Corridor, with CM Yogi Adityanath in attendance. This unit is designed to produce 80-100 missiles annually.
On this occasion, CM Yogi stated that terrorism is like a dog's tail, which will never straighten. It needs to be answered in its own language. We've allocated 200 acres of land for BrahMos. If you haven't witnessed the power of BrahMos in Operation Sindhur, ask the Pakistanis about its impact.
He emphasized that terrorism must be crushed completely, as declared by the Prime Minister. Until we do so, the issue won't be resolved. It's time to rally behind PM Modi's leadership across India to tackle this.

It was during the 2018 Global Investors Summit that PM Narendra Modi announced the defense industrial corridor initiative. The production unit's foundation stone was laid in 2021. Developed by DRDO and Russia's NPO Mashinostroyeniya, BrahMos missiles are crucial to India's defense systems.
The event also marked the inauguration of a Titanium and Super Alloys Material Plant (Strategic Material Technology Complex), designed for aerospace and defense manufacturing materials. Additionally, the foundation for the Defense Testing Infrastructure System (DTIS) was laid, a facility for defense product testing and certification. The BrahMos production unit, on 80 hectares of land provided freely by the Uttar Pradesh government, was completed in three and a half years.
The UP Defense Industrial Corridor comprises six nodes, including Lucknow, Kanpur, Aligarh, Agra, Jhansi, and Chitrakoot, aimed at attracting significant defense investments. Uttar Pradesh is the second state after Tamil Nadu to establish such a corridor.
