The Lalu Yadav family is under scrutiny in the land-for-job scam. On Tuesday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a prolonged interrogation of former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi and her son, Tej Pratap. They were questioned separately in different rooms by ED officials. Today, Lalu Prasad Yadav is also set to appear before the ED.
This marks the second interrogation of Rabri Devi in the land-for-job scam over two years. In contrast, Tej Pratap faced questioning for the first time. The ED questioned Rabri for four hours, whereas Tej Pratap underwent a four-and-a-half-hour interrogation. Previously, on January 29, the ED questioned Lalu for a marathon 10-hour session. Last year, on January 30, the ED also interrogated Tejashwi Yadav for eight hours.
Sources suggest the ED team sought answers to numerous questions from Rabri Devi. However, she reportedly deflected many queries. According to ED sources, fresh insights necessitated resumed questioning. Statements from Rabri, Tej Pratap, and Lalu are being recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

ED inquired about lunch and medication
Sources report that Rabri Devi did not clearly respond to most of ED's questions and tended to evade them. The ED team also inquired about her lunch and mentioned that she could take medication if needed.
Early in the morning, Rabri Devi arrived at the ED office accompanied by her daughter Misa Bharti. Misa stated, Rabri Devi and Tej Pratap Yadav have been summoned for questioning by the ED. We have always provided answers to all questions. They are fulfilling their duty, and we are fulfilling our responsibility. Our supporters outside are also performing their duty. Lalu Yadav has been called tomorrow.
What is the case about?
Last year, the ED filed a charge sheet in a Delhi court against members of the Lalu family, implicating others as well, including Rabri Devi and her daughters Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav. Allegations charge that during his tenure as the railway minister in the UPA-1 government from 2004 to 2009, Lalu Yadav engaged in corrupt practices in the appointment of Group D posts in Indian Railways.
