At Kuno National Park, the success story of 'Project Cheetah' has become even more golden. Female cheetah Gamini, who gave birth to cubs 10 days ago, has been confirmed to have not 3 but 4 cubs. Union Minister of Forest and Environment, Bhupendra Yadav, shared this information personally on social media.

On February 18, when Gamini gave birth, initial monitoring revealed the presence of 3 cubs. However, continuous monitoring by Kuno's field staff and a team of veterinarians registered the presence of a fourth cub amidst the bushes. All four cubs are completely healthy and are developing normally.

New Scorecard

With the confirmation of Gamini's fourth cub, India's cheetah count has notably strengthened. The total number of cubs born in India has reached 28, with the overall cheetah count now at 39. This is Gamini's second time giving birth, adding a new vigor to this preservation project.

A Triumph of Science and Dedication

Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav attributed this achievement to the scientific management and dedication to conservation embodied in 'Project Cheetah'.

He praised the field staff and the team of doctors, stating that every new birth fortifies this ambitious project on a global stage.
