The West Bengal government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by IPS Dr. Pranav Kumar to investigate alleged financial irregularities at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. This was set up after allegations emerged against former principal Dr. Sandeep Ghosh.
Leading the team is IPS officer and Inspector General of Police Dr. Pranav Kumar. Other members include Murshidabad Range DIG Waqar Raza, CID DIG Soma Das Mitra, and Kolkata Police DCP Indira Mukherjee. This team is tasked with ensuring transparency and accountability within the institution.

Sandeep Ghosh May Also Undergo a Polygraph Test
The CBI is also investigating Sandeep Ghosh and wants to conduct a polygraph test on him. Discrepancies have been found between the victim's family's statements and the former principal Dr. Sandeep Ghosh's statements. Due to these varying statements, it is suggested that the CBI may carry out his polygraph test. However, court approval for his polygraph is pending.
'Hang Him or Do Whatever You Want', Says Sanjay Roy's Mother-in-Law
The court has approved a polygraph test for Sanjay Roy. Following this, an investigation will be carried out to determine the veracity of his statements. Sanjay Roy's mother-in-law said, "Relations between us were very strained. They had been married for 2 years. It was his second marriage to my daughter. Everything was fine for the first 6 months. When she was 3 months pregnant, she had an abortion."

She added, "He (Sanjay Roy) beat her (my daughter), and a complaint was filed with the police regarding this. Afterward, my daughter fell ill, and I bore all the expenses for her medicines... Sanjay wasn't good. Hang him or do whatever you want. I will not speak about the crime. He cannot do this alone. He does not have the capability to do it alone..."
