Rabind Mishra, father of Monojit Mishra, the prime accused in the gang rape case at South Calcutta Law College, remarked that if his son is found guilty, he should face the harshest punishment as per the law. He expressed sorrow over the tragic incident, noting that the matter is currently under investigation. 'I fully trust the legal system, and the punishment decided under the law should be executed,' he stated.
Rabind Mishra emphasized the efficiency of the Kolkata Police and stated his belief in a fair investigation. However, he disclosed that his son now lives separately and has minimal contact with them. 'At home, I have my elderly mother, and Monojit's mother is very ill, but he no longer resides with us nor maintains much connection,' he confessed. He also claimed, 'My son became a victim of internal college politics. He has been caught up in it unjustly. It deeply pains me to see him accused of such serious allegations.'
