Senior leader of Janata Dal United (JD(U)) KC Tyagi has recently resigned from the post of national spokesperson citing personal reasons. Following Tyagi's resignation, Rajeev Ranjan has been appointed as the new national spokesperson of JD(U). General Secretary Afaque Ahmad Khan has issued a letter informing about this change.

However, there are several underlying reasons behind KC Tyagi's resignation, including the differences within and outside the party caused by his statements.

Dissent Within the Party Caused by Statements

KC Tyagi, a long-time prominent face of JD(U), has recently made statements diverging from the party’s official stance. Many times, he issued statements without consulting the party leadership or other senior leaders, resulting in internal dissent, becoming gradually serious.

Conflicts within NDA

Tyagi's statements not only caused issues within JD(U) but also triggered conflicts within the NDA. Notably, on foreign policy matters, he signed a joint statement with INDIA alliance leaders to stop supplying arms to Israel, creating discomfort for JD(U) leadership and escalating the controversy.

Controversial Statements: SC/ST Reservations and Lateral Entry

Additionally, Tyagi made statements on an important Supreme Court decision regarding SC/ST reservations without consulting the party, which displeased the leadership. Similarly, he presented his personal views on lateral entry as the party's official stance.

Questioning the Leadership

Tyagi often presented his personal thoughts as the party's views, causing questions about the party's image and leadership. This uncomfortable situation led JD(U) leadership to decide to accept Tyagi's resignation.

Rajeev Ranjan Takes Over the Responsibility

After Tyagi’s resignation, Rajeev Ranjan has been appointed as JD(U)’s new national spokesperson. General Secretary Afaque Ahmad Khan issued a letter informing about this change.

Political experts believe that KC Tyagi’s exit aims to reduce internal dissension within the JD(U) and help the party move forward unitedly. All eyes will be on the party’s future strategy following Tyagi’s resignation.
