In Kanpur Dehat, Uttar Pradesh, as the groom arrived with the wedding procession, he unexpectedly demanded a motorcycle and an additional lakh rupees from the bride's father. According to the information, Motilal from Naurangabad in the Rura police station area lodged a complaint about this additional dowry demand. He mentioned that his daughter's marriage was arranged with Badal, the son of Munnu Singh alias Munnu Pal from Ahiran Garhewa. The wedding procession arrived at their guest house on the set date of June 18, where a warm welcome and traditional ceremonies were conducted.

The bride's father stated that on June 9, a bike had already been provided to the groom. Despite this, further demands for a motorcycle and a lakh rupees were made in dowry. After the bride's father's complaint, the police have filed a case against the groom and fifty baratis. Akbarpur CO Arun Kumar Singh affirmed that the police have filed the case and are actively investigating the matter.
