Bollywood actress and BJP candidate from Mandi, Kangana Ranaut has made a public statement on the ongoing beef debacle, asserting that she does not consume beef or any form of red meat. She has labeled the rumors circulating about her as baseless.
In Maharashtra, opposition leader Vijay Wadettiwar levied accusations of beef consumption against Kangana which sparked widespread debate. He criticized BJP's decision to field Kangana, who had allegedly expressed her preference for beef on social media platforms. BJP vehemently countered these claims. In response, Kangana hit back with a rebuttal.
No one can mislead
On Monday, Kangana tweeted, 'I do not eat beef or any kind of red meat. It's disgraceful that baseless rumors are being spread about me. I have been an advocate for a yogic and Ayurvedic lifestyle for decades, and I promote them as well. Thus, this attempt to tarnish my image will not work at all. People know very well that I am a proud Hindu. No one can misguide them. Jai Shri Ram.'
What did Kangana originally say?
In a post dated May 24, 2019, Kangana had mentioned, 'Eating beef or any other meat is not a matter of religion! It's no secret that 8 years ago, I chose the path of a yogi by embracing vegetarianism. I don't believe in just one religion.' She clarified further that her brother, in contrast, does consume meat.
