JNU Tops India in QS Rankings, Now Global Top 20

JNU secures top spot in India, advances to 20th in global QS rankings.

World QS University Ranking 2024:

The QS World University Ranking has released its list of top global universities, featuring several renowned Indian institutions. Situated in the capital, Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru University has secured the prestigious 20th place globally for academics. JNU is among the 20 universities that have shown tremendous growth in educational standards. Besides JNU, IIM Ahmedabad and Savita Institute are also included in this elite ranking list.

University Rankings Following JNU

JNU has been ranked 20th for Development Studies, while IIM Ahmedabad has secured the 25th spot in Business and Management Studies globally. Additionally, IIM Bangalore and Kolkata have acquired the 50th position. Meanwhile, Savita Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences Chennai is ranked 24th in the world for Dentistry.

India on the Verge of Surpassing the UK

QS officials state that India is now the fourth-largest producer of research globally and is on the verge of surpassing the UK. India is undeniably becoming a powerful player in the international academic community, with students from various countries pursuing their studies here.

20% Growth in World University Rankings for India

According to QS CEO Jessica Turner, one of India's greatest challenges is to provide high-quality education despite the increasing demand. This has been recognized by the 2020 National Education Policy (NEP), which has set a goal to achieve a 50 percent gross enrollment by 2035. Indian programs included in our 55 subject rankings and five broad faculty areas have increased from 355 to 454 this year. India has shown significant growth in the QS World University Ranking based on subjects, with a 20 percent increase this year. There has also been a 16 percent growth in the international research network.
