A harrowing incident unfolded in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, as a 20-year-old woman and her one-year-old son died in a fire under suspicious circumstances. The police have launched an investigation and detained the woman's husband, mother-in-law, and father-in-law for questioning.

According to reports from the news agency, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Gopinath Soni revealed that the deceased identified as Pooja, was married to Kaushal Kushwaha. The initial family claim suggests that while cooking, Pooja suddenly doused herself and her son with a flammable substance, leading to the fire.

During the incident, other family members were working in the fields. Neighbors, upon noticing the flames, alerted the family and the police promptly. Tragically, by the time the fire was controlled, both mother and son had died.

Pooja had been married to Kaushal Kushwaha for four years. Given the seriousness of the situation, the police are interrogating her husband, mother-in-law, and father-in-law. The Superintendent stated that the investigation is thorough, examining every aspect to uncover the truth.

Postmortem Report Expected to Unveil Truth

The bodies of the mother and son have been sent for postmortem examination. Only after the postmortem report will the exact cause of their death be revealed. The police are considering both suicide and domestic violence angles in their investigation.
