In light of this, the administration invited cybersecurity experts to launch an initiative. This program educated people on methods to safeguard against cybercrimes and raised awareness about digital safety.
Present at the program were Jamtara's Superintendent of Police (SP) Ehsham Wakareeb and cybersecurity experts. Experts discussed how the internet has become a vital part of life, with approximately 5 million people using it nationwide. It's essential to use it safely. Jamtara is infamous for cyber crimes nationwide, and the local populace is distressed. Therefore, awareness about cybersecurity is crucial.
Recommendations on cybersecurity included avoiding sharing bank details and personal information. Avoid providing banking information over phone calls, messages, or emails. Exercise caution on social media - refrain from connecting with strangers or sharing personal information. Avoid clicking on suspicious links. Before opening any dubious website, link, or email, verify its authenticity.

Additionally, establish strong passwords for bank accounts, social media, and other digital platforms, and change them periodically. Implement double-layer security. SP Ehsham Wakareeb stated that the police department remains fully alert to prevent cyber scams. He urged citizens to report any cyber fraud or suspicious activity to the police immediately. The district administration plans to conduct more programs to curb cybercrimes and educate the public.
