The Vande Bharat Express train is set to launch from various corners of the country. Recently, a video of the Jammu-Kashmir Vande Bharat Express train has emerged, shared by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on his social media. The video highlights how this train maintains speed, even at -30 degrees, and how ice does not accumulate on its windows.
Indeed, the project to launch the Vande Bharat Express train to enhance connectivity and simplify commuting in Jammu & Kashmir is nearly complete. This train will cut the travel time from Jammu to Srinagar down to just 3 hours and 10 minutes. The Jammu-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express will be distinct from other Vande Bharat trains in India, offering more luxury and advanced features. Let's unravel its unique attributes.
What Features Does This Train Offer?
The clip of the J&K Vande Bharat Express is making rounds on social media, revealing its special features. The Srinagar Vande Bharat Express coaches are equipped with silicon heating pads and plumbing pipes to prevent water from freezing. The driver's cabin is fitted with a triple air windscreen and a heated filament in the middle section, effective even among heavy snowfall.
No More Icy Windows
The driver’s cabin is fitted with a heated filament on the windows, mitigating ice formation problems. Even in extreme cold, the windows stay warm. The restrooms are equipped with heaters to fend off the chill. You can travel comfortably in this train even at temperatures as low as -30 degrees, thanks to heated windows and cabin warmth.
The unique arrangements are in response to the harsh cold of Jammu & Kashmir. For the first time ever, such features are being introduced in Indian trains. Additionally, there are comfort 360-degree rotating seats, charging points, automated doors between coaches, and more.
Airplane-Style Toilets in Trains
Following in line with other Vande Bharat trains, this one also hosts entertainment systems such as TVs and music systems. For security, CCTV cameras have been installed. The bio-vacuum toilets are comparable to airplane toilets, using minimal water.
