In a significant development in South Kashmir, four terrorist accomplices affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed have been apprehended in the Awantipora area. This joint operation was executed meticulously by the police and security forces.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Mudasir Ahmad Naik, Umar Nazir Sheikh, Inayat Firdous Rather, and Salman Nazir Lone, all from the region of Tral and its surroundings.
According to police reports, materials associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed, a banned terrorist group, were recovered from these individuals. The items seized are believed to have been used for aiding terrorist activities in the area.
Involved in Weapon Transportation
The local police have stated that these arrested accomplices were involved in providing logistical support and the transportation of arms and ammunition to active terrorists in the regions of Tral and Awantipora. A case under FIR 134/2024 has been registered at the Tral Police Station. Police further mentioned that the investigation is ongoing and these arrests are expected to curb the activities of the terrorist organization.

Following the arrests, local authorities have intensified security measures in and around Awantipora. Security forces are keen on ensuring the arrest of any other active Jaish affiliates in the region.
